Allan William Nygard, age 62, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Allan was born on Monday, August 2, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to George Nygard and the late Audrey (Baxter) Klump.
Allan’s survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Delores “Lori” Christina (Hanson) Nygard; his two daughters: Allison Greminger and her husband, John, of Stroudsburg, Kelly Keller and her husband, Evan, of Newark, DE; his brother, Larry Nygard of Michigan; his two sisters; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful feline companion, Boo.
Allan was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a man with a big heart who was always thinking of others and would go out of his way to help someone in need. Allan would make friends anywhere he went and he liked to stand out in a crowd, especially while wearing his favorite bright colors. He always had an opinion and a good sense of humor. Allan loved going to the Williams Grove Flea Market every weekend and seeing his friends. He reveled in a good movie and could always be heard sharing quotes from his favorite films. Allan was competitive when it came to playing board games like Labyrinth or Buzz!; he became quite the sore loser when he lost, which was rare. The most important thing to Allan was his family and the quality time they spent together, they will miss him dearly.
All are welcome to join Allan’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Allan’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at The Stage & Studio Café, next door to the funeral home, following the service. Cremation was private.
