A Collector of Many Things -

Grace “Gracie” Esther Schreiber, age 65, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Duncannon and New Bloomfield, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 31, 2018.  Gracie was born on Saturday, November 15, 1952 in Mechanicsburg to the late Guy Melvin Schreiber and Helen Louise (Morrow) Schreiber.  In addition to her parents, Gracie is preceded in death by her two brothers: Jeffrey Schreiber and Larry Schreiber; and her beloved Shih Tzu, Noel.

Gracie’s survivors include her son, Christopher “Chris” Schreiber and his life partner, Jenet, of Mechanicsburg; her brother, Ray Schreiber and his wife, Doris, of San Francisco, CA; and her niece, Dakota Crawford of San Francisco, CA.

Gracie attended Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.  She worked for Capital BlueCross for more than 10 years as a claims analyst.  Gracie loved to go to yard sales and thrift shops.  She would always come home with more items to add to her ever-growing collections.  Gracie enjoyed adding to her Wizard of Oz, Eeyore, angel, and Precious Moments collections.  She also had quite the stockpile of books.  Gracie like to read mystery, horror, and thriller novels especially those written by Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

All are welcome to join Gracie’s family at her viewing on Friday, September 7, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Burial will follow in Longsdorf Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Richard Crockett, Melvin Enck, Robert McDonald, Barry Smith, and Larry Smith.
