Adelaide “Addie” Cecelia Cortese

Kindness & Faithfulness -

Adelaide “Addie” Cecelia Cortese, 92, of Camp Hill and formerly of Scranton died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Harrisburg.  She was born on Saturday, February 22, 1919 in Scranton the daughter of the late Thomas and Cecelia (Hessron) Kline.  Addie was the widow of Ralph Cortese to whom she was married for 50 years, having married him on November 20, 1942.

Addie graduated from a Catholic High School in Scranton.  She was a proud member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill having joined in the 1950s.  Addie is remembered by her friends as the kindest and most faithful person that they have ever met.  She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and was forever happy while always accepting her health issues, of which she was never heard to complain.

Addie generously gave her time to her friends and she loved to talk on the telephone.  She adored her cats and kept a sharp mind until the very end.  Addie enjoyed traveling with her late husband with whom she had many adventures.  She will be missed.

Addie’s survivors include her dear friends: Joan Bailey of Camp Hill; Betsy Dum of Harrisburg; Nicholas Lamberti of Mechanicsburg; Knovel and Claire Lamberti of Mechanicsburg; Luanne & Donald Hunter of Etters; and many more friends who knew and loved Addie.

Addie’s friends send their most heartfelt thanks to Dr. G. Robert Little who so lovingly cared for Addie.

All are welcome to join Addie’s friends at her visitation on Monday, November 14, 2011, from 9:30 until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at Church of the Good Shepherd , 3435 East Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 with Reverend Paul C. Helwig celebrating.  Burial will immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Addie’s friends are invited for a Time of Food and Fellowship at Hoss’s Restaurant in Mechanicsburg on Monday following the burial.
