Adele Maria (Wallacher) Throne, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  Adele was born on Friday, January 4, 1935, in Landsweiler, Germany to the late Lüdwig Wallacher and Ella (Thome) Wallacher.  Adele was the widow of Thomas “Tom” Throne, Sr., whom she married on July 30, 1973, and who died on December 19, 2016.  In addition to her parents and husband, Adele is preceded in death by her two brothers, Lüdwig Wallacher and Otto Wallacher; and her sister, Marga Kürz.

Adele’s survivors include her two children:  Diana T. Reddig and husband, Fred, of Carlisle, Tom Throne, Jr. and wife, Heather, of Woodstock, GA; her five grandchildren: Carson, Charlie, Ryan, Allison, and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Adele retired from Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle, after many years of service working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA).  She really cared about her patients and would often go the extra mile by doing extra things for them.  Adele was a lifelong member of Roman Catholic faith.  She was the owner of Adele’s European Deli & Gift Shop in Mechanicsburg.  In 1973, Adele and her family came to America from Germany.  She was very proud of her German heritage and passed along to her daughter how to bake spritzgebäck cookies.  Adele loved to knit and sew; she made a lot of her own clothes and sweaters for her family.  She was a true animal lover and owned many dogs throughout her lifetime, such as Great Danes, Pugs, English Bulldogs, and Dachshunds.  Adele also adored all of her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.  She will be remembered for her strong-willed spirit and drive to never give up.
