Ahmaud Winston Hodge, 32, of Harrisburg and formerly of Carlisle died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital after struggling with Diabetes. He was born on Thursday, November 30, 1978 in Hershey the son of Mervin Hodge and Gwendolyn Fay Palmer who both survive Ahmaud.
Ahmaud attended Carlisle High School in the mid and late 1990s. He was an extremely talented artist and musician who excelled at singing. Ahmaud performed in numerous school plays and continued acting, following his high school years, as part of MiShar Productions and the Capital Dinner Theatre. During his time with MiShar, Ahmaud performed all over the United States and in countless roles.
Ahmaud loved animals and for several years he was employed as a supervisor at the Mechanicsburg Humane Society. He has a wonderful sense of humor and was a gentle and caring man who was loved by many and who will be deeply missed.
Ahmaud’s survivors include his loving parents, his mother: Gwendolyn Fay Palmer of Carlisle; his father: Mervin Hodge Jr of Carlisle and Harrisburg; three brothers: Matthew Hodge of Carlisle, Xavier Hodge of Carlisle, Mikos Hodge of Carlisle; two sisters: Brook Hodge of Carlisle, Amia Hodge of Carlisle; his paternal grandparents: Lois J. and Mervin J. Hodge Sr of Harrisburg; a niece: Sejhne Lillian Palmer of Carlisle; a special cousin: Taleen Palmer of Carlisle; a friend: James Austin of Harrisburg; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Among those preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents: Henrietta L. and William H. Palmer Jr.

. Ahmaud’s Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:00 at Bibleway-Hibner Memorial Church of God in Christ, 233 Walnut Street, Carlisle, PA, 17013, (717) 243-0319, with Pastor Robert L. Woodall officiating. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
