Albert Francis Seachrist
Albert Francis Seachrist, 80, of Shermans Dale , died at LifeCare Hospitals of Mechanicsburg on Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was born in Pennsburg, on Wednesday, October 25, 1933, son of the late Robert Henry Seachrist and Margaret (Dougherty) Seachrist. Albert was the widow Barbara Ann Kline Seachrist who died on July 24, 1998.
Albert’s survivors include his loving children, Sharon Purpura and her husband Salvatore of Mechanicsburg, Cheryl Ann McClintock and her husband John of Dillsburg, Ricky Seachrist of Hanover; his sister, Theresa Cope and her husband Kenneth, his brother, Leonard Seachrist and his wife Lorraine; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Albert in death are his son, Michael Seachrist; a brother, Robert Seachrist; and a grandchild, Crystal Seachrist.
Albert attended Pennsburg High School and received his GED while serving in the Air Force. He retired from Rite-Aid Corporation in Mechanicsburg, after 34 years of service working as a truck driver. Albert was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, where he served as an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer on the B17 planes. Albert received his wings for being an air crew member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching auto racing and football.
