Alfred “Al” James McClintock, Jr., age 62, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of York, passed away due to COVID-19 on Saturday, December 19, 2020.  Al was born on Friday, March 21, 1958, in Mechanicsburg to Gertha Vivian (Null) McClintock and the late Alfred James McClintock, Sr.

Al’s survivors include his two children: Shanna Shoffner of Mechanicsburg, Alfred “AJ” J. McClintock III of Landisburg; his four siblings: Karen Dupert of Mechanicsburg, Kathy Yinger of Mechanicsburg, Sherry Amrhein of Mechanicsburg, Jerry McClintock of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Al graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1976.  A hard worker, Al served in various positions at ABF Freight, Overnight Freight, Penn Waste, and Republic Services, starting off as a dockworker and short hauler, and eventually shop foreman in the Waste Management Industry.  He was a member of the Central PA Teamsters.  Al was an avid Steelers fan and loved NASCAR and dirt track racing.  He also enjoyed professional wrestling.  His family remembers Al as willing to help anyone and he will be missed.

All are welcome to join Al’s family at his celebration of life open house with food and fellowship on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 1:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots. Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will immediately follow the open house.  Cremation was private.
