Alice May (Potteiger) Seaman

Alice May (Potteiger) Seaman, age 97, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  Alice was born on Monday, January 30, 1922 in Camp Hill to the late Merritt LeRoy Potteiger, Sr. and Edna Sarah (Hale) Potteiger.  Alice was the widow of Emory L. Seaman, whom she married on January 15, 1943, and who died on June 2, 1990.  In addition to her parents and husband, Alice is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Seaman; her grandson, Christopher Deardorff; her three brothers; and her three sisters.

Alice’s survivors include her daughter, Barbara Deardorff of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughter, Kelly Deardorff Palumbo and her husband, Anthony, of Mechanicsburg; her two great-grandchildren: Julian Palumbo, Josephine Deardorff; her three brothers; her two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to join Alice’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Monday, January 20, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Chaplain Keith Searfoss officiating.  Alice’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  Burial in Longsdorf Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be private.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone with Grane Hospice who so lovingly cared for Alice during her illness.
