Angelo DiLoreto
Angelo DiLoreto, age 96, of Mechanicsburg Pa; formerly of Frederick, Maryland Angelo DiLoreto was born on October 3rd 1926 to Umberto (Albert) and Ida also known as Edith (Cassol) DiLoreto in Fairpoint, Ohio and entered into rest on July 7, 2023. After leaving home at the age of sixteen, Angelo joined the United States Army to fight in WWII. He served 5 enlistments for a total of twenty years of service. He was deployed to Japan, France, and the Philippines After the war he transferred to the United States Air Force and deployed to Japan and Greenland. He met Grace Sithens who was working in Washington, DC, and they were married on August 2nd, 1952. Once retiring from the military he worked for the Bell Telephone company for twenty two years, and retired to do volunteer work until the age of 82. Angelo is survived by his wife, Grace (Sithens) DiLoreto, and their four children and their spouses; Thomas and Ruth (DiLoreto) Gosnell, Wesley and Grace (DiLoreto) Britton, David and Faythe (Schlabach) DiLoreto, Esther (DiLoreto) Polson. In addition, he is survived by sixteen grandchildren; Crystal (Gosnell) Raphael, Jonathan Gosnell, Benjamin Gosnell, Renee (Gosnell) Harper, Jeremy Pauley, Jason Pauley, Joshua Pauley, Chelsea (DiLoreto) Wheeler, Marissa DiLoreto, Tyler DiLoreto, Danielle Polson, Erin (Polson) Sieber, Nathan Polson, Brendon Isaac Polson, Halle Polson, Andrew Polson and twenty-three great-grandchildren Thomas Raphael, Evelyn Gosnell, Cescily Gosnell, Megan Gosnell, Annalee Gosnell, Evangeline Gosnell, Navia Gosnell, Mosiah Gosnell, Zebulon Gosnell, Eleazer Gosnell, Lucretia Harper, Charla Harper, Nora Harper, Jackson Harper, Tristan Pauley, Celeste Pauley, Rebecca Pauley, Emily Pauley, LorettaAnn Wheeler, Aria Seiber, Aiden Sieber, Darius Polson, and Paisley Thomas. He is also survived by a sister Eleanore Mcintyre. He was a quiet, hard-working, godly presence who faithfully led and loved his family. He was dearly loved and highly respected in return.
All are welcome to join Angelo’s family at his viewing on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Angelo’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service. Burial will follow the reception in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, 9501 US Rt. 15N, Frederick, MD.
