Ann Lovine (Dubs) Minnich, age 91, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Gettysburg , died peacefully at home on Monday, June 23, 2014. She was born in Gettysburg, on Sunday, December 3, 1922, daughter of the late Robert Paul Dubs and Reba Ruth (Gordon) Dubs. Ann was the widow of George William Minnich whom she married on August 1, 1948, and who died on February 28, 1997. Among those preceding Ann in death are her baby girl, Georgia Ann Minnich; her three sisters, Catherine Tate, Grace Gilbert, Pauline Hertz; her half-sister, Reba Gorsuch; her half-brother, Robert P. Dubs; her step-mother, Mildred Dubs; her niece, Cindy Gilbert; and her nephew, Gregory Hertz.
Ann’s survivors include her three loving sons: Bill Minnich and his wife, Phyllis “PJ”, of Mechanicsburg, Jake Minnich and his wife, Kim, of Mechanicsburg, Marty Minnich and his wife, Gail, of Dillsburg; her five grandchildren: Jason, Nikki, Justin, Samantha, Kelsie; her four great-grandchildren: Judi, Tanner, Laurel, Jaxson; her half-sister, Queena Cunningham, of Hanover; two nieces and two nephews.
Ann attended Gettysburg High School in the 1930s. She was President of Minnich’s Garage, Inc. in Mechanicsburg, which her husband, George, established in 1946. Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church and had attended Country & Town Baptist Church, both in Mechanicsburg. Ann was a member of: Trio Chapter #544 of O.E.S. in Mechanicsburg, which is now the Old Bellaire Chapter #375 of O.E.S. in Carlisle, Bowmansdale Pinochle Card Club for over 50 years, Dames with Hattitude “Red Hat Society”, Pinnacle Health Auxiliary , and the Women’s Club of Mechanicsburg. She loved flowers of all kinds and greatly enjoyed gardening.
All are welcome to join Ann’s family at her viewing on Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with an O.E.S. Service at 6:30 p.m. and on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., all at Myers – Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Pastor Robert L. Hylton will officiate the service, and burial will immediately follow in Longsdorf Cemetery in New Kingstown. Honored to be pallbearers are: Bill Minnich, Jake Minnich, Marty Minnich, Gerald P. Minnich, Justin Minnich, Jason Minnich, Jack Norris and Ted Enck. Ann’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Country & Town Baptist Church , 220 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, following the burial.
