Ann Marie (Seymour) Morris

Loving Wife and Mother -

Ann Marie (Seymour) Morris, age 75, of Mechanicsburg , died at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Monday, January 26, 2015.  Ann was born on Monday, December 4, 1939 in Carbondale to the late James Seymour and Mary (Duffy) Seymour.  Ann was the widow of Richard “Rich” Paul Morris, whom she married on August 23, 1958, and who died on May 26, 2002.  In addition to her parents and husband, Ann is preceded in death by her brother, James Seymour, Jr.

Ann’s survivors include her sons:  Douglas P. Morris and Art Morris, both of Mechanicsburg; and her sister, Agnes Seymour, of Carbondale.

Ann graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale as part of the class of 1957.  After graduation, Ann married her high school sweetheart and moved to Binghamton, NY for a short time before Rich enlisted in the Army.  While stationed in El Paso, TX, Doug was born, and they spent time living in Fairbanks, AK and San Francisco, CA, before settling in Mechanicsburg during Art’s childhood. Ann was an active volunteer at Monroe Township Fire Department, supporting the bingo community that she loved.  She particularly loved the socializing and excitement of bingo nights.  Ann was fond of animals, especially the pets she had throughout her life and the hummingbirds and wildlife that her husband’s garden attracted.  Ann’s sons remember their mom as a loving wife and mother; and they will miss her baking, most notably her “legendary” pumpkin pies, made from pumpkins grown in their dad’s garden.

All are welcome to join Ann’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Saturday, January 31, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Ann’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Warm Hearts Café, next door to Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory. Cremation was private.
