Anna Mae (Myers) Lingenfelter
Loved Being a Mother -
Anna Mae (Myers) Lingenfelter, age 97, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Leechburg, went home to meet Jesus with her loving family by her side on Friday, September 28, 2018. Anna was born on Monday, March 11, 1921 in Rimersburg, PA to the late Samuel V. Myers and Anna Blanche (Wilson) Myers. Anna was the widow of Neville Lingenfelter, whom she married on October 7, 1942, and who died on September 29 1990. In addition to her parents and husband, Anna is preceded in death by her son, Michael “Mike” Lingenfelter; her daughter-in-law, Crystal Lingenfelter; and her three siblings: Vincent Myers, Orville Myers, and Fern Matthews.
Anna’s survivors include her three children: Gerald “Jerry” Lingenfelter of Frankford, DE, John Lingenfelter and his wife, Becky, of Camp Hill, PA, Susan “Sue” P. Smith of Mechanicsburg, PA; her four grandchildren: Tara and her spouse Jodiann, Amanda and her husband Kyle, Meredith and her fiancé Lee, Kimberly and her fiancé Larry; her six great-grandchildren: Brayden, Shane, Shawn, Declan, Kayla, Cameron; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg since 1969. She worked as an Avon Representative for 22 years. Her favorite lifelong, fulltime job was being a mother. Anna and her husband, Neville, served as houseparents for the Milton Hershey School. She also helped to volunteer at HealthSouth. Anna loved gardening and took excellent care of her garden by tending to it many hours a day. Her other hobbies included keeping her mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles and reading.
All are welcome to join Anna’s family at her viewing on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 132 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Dr. Karen Durbin officiating. Anna’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the service. Burial in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be private and at the convenience of the family.
