Anna “Betty” Elizabeth (Stambaugh) Wise

Anna “Betty” Elizabeth (Stambaugh) Wise, 82, of Camp Hill , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died peacefully at Holy Spirit Hospital with some of her loving family by her side on Sunday, December 15, 2013. She was born in Mechanicsburg, on Wednesday, March 4, 1931, daughter of the late Bruce Edward Stambaugh and Gladys Rae (Pepper) Stambaugh. Betty was the widow of Donald H. Wise whom she married on June 15, 1952, and who died on February 22, 1983.
Betty’s survivors include her children, Michael Wise of Mechanicsburg, Jack Wise and his wife Leah of Mechanicsburg, Sue-Ellen Wise of Dillsburg, Laurie Wise of Mechanicsburg; her grandson, Brandon Wise of Dillsburg; her two step granddaughters, Trisha Beamish of Simpsonville, SC, Tanya Hoban of Dillsburg; her step great-grandchildren Zach Wintermyer, Ethan Beamish, Makayla Hoban, Jayden Hoban; and her brother, Dwight Stambaugh of Shepherdstown.
Betty graduated from Mechanicsburg High School . She read her Bible faithfully and she loved to read in general. Betty was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles, especially Jimmy Johnson. Her love of cats was never ending and she greatly enjoyed watching TV shows involving animals. Betty spent many happy hours at the beach and on their family boat. She was always laughing, smiling and friendly and she will be deeply missed.
All are welcome to join Betty’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, December 19, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Cremation was private and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society Capital Area Unit , 2 Lemoyne Drive, Suite #101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
