Eleanor (Christensen) Larsen
Anna Eleanor (Christensen) Larsen, 88, of Shiremanstown , died at the home of her son surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 27, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on Sunday, September 28, 1924, daughter of the late Christen Christensen and Agnes (Bentsen) Christensen. Eleanor was the widow of Tom Larsen whom she married on May 23, 1948.
Eleanor was actively involved in the churches where she lived throughout her life. These included Evangelical Free Church, South Ozone Park, Queens, Salem Evangelical Free Church, Staten Island, and Bible Baptist Church, Shiremanstown. She supported mission activities both overseas and locally for many years.
Eleanor’s survivors include her loving children, Roy Larsen and his wife Judy of Allentown, Eric Larsen and his wife Carolyn of Glen Ellyn, IL, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to join Eleanor’s family at viewing on Friday, November 2, 2012, from 8:30 until time of service at 9:30 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Reverend Jess Eaton officiating. Following a reception at her church, burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
