Anna Mae (Raudabaugh) Holtry Smith

Anna Mae (Raudabaugh) Holtry Smith, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Anna Mae was born on Saturday, July 30, 1927 in Carlisle to the late John Daniel Raudabaugh and Ruth Emma (Brehm) Raudabaugh. In addition to her parents, Anna Mae is preceded in death by her step-son, Andrew T. Smith; her three sisters: Fannie Elizabeth Raudabaugh, Gladys Romaine Raudabaugh, Reba Mildred Raudabaugh; and her two brothers: John Alfred Raudabaugh and Willard Wesley Raudabaugh.
Anna Mae’s survivors include her husband of 43 years, Arthur “Art” James Smith; her two children: William Holtry, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Galena, OH, Shirley Frye of Shemans Dale; her five grandchildren: Traci Lynn Frye, Christopher W. Holtry, Mark Cox, Chad A. Holtry, Teresa Cox Cesario; her eight great-grandchildren: Sadie Olivia Hallas, Ian Levi Hallas, Noah C. Holtry, Amelia Holtry, Nicholas Cesario, Stephanie Cesario, Amy Cox, Catherine Cox; her two brothers: Chester Raudabaugh, Clarence Raudabaugh, both of Boiling Springs; her cousins: Marie E. Wheeler, Kathryn M. Long, John R. Sheely; her sister-in-law, Joyce M. Raudabaugh; her former spouse, William Holtry, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna Mae graduated from Boiling Springs High School as part of the class of 1945 and she attended the Thompson Institute in Harrisburg. She retired from Dauphin Deposit Bank and Trust Company, after 35 years of service working as a computer data supervisor. Anna Mae was a lifelong member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Carlisle and a member of Old Bellaire Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #375 in Carlisle since 2005. Anna Mae enjoyed cooking delicious meals, sewing for her family and watching mystery movies. She adored Santa Claus and chicken collectibles and had many of each in her collection. She loved everything about Christmas; she collected Santa’s and even played Mrs. Santa Claus at family functions. Anna Mae cherished the time that she spent with her family, and she never missed a chance to attend all of her family’s gatherings. She and her husband Art traveled extensively; and enjoyed every moment that they spent traveling to the many places they visited. Anna Mae’s family will remember her quiet demeanor and that she was such a fun person to be around. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
All are welcome to join Anna Mae’s family at her viewing on Sunday, November 17, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until time of Eastern Star Service and closing ceremony beginning at 3:45 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, and on Monday, November 18, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with service at 10:45 a.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle, PA 17015; with Reverend Bruce Fensterbush officiating. Anna Mae’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the service. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Honored to be pallbearers are: Wayne Holtry, William Holtry, Jr., Rich Miller, Chester Raudabaugh, Clarence Raudabaugh, and Tim Wientz.
