Arlene Lucinda (Reitz) Trouton, 89, of Mechanicsburg , died at Messiah Village on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.  She was born in Washington Township, on Tuesday, January 8, 1924, daughter of the late Harvey E. Reitz and Alice N.M. (Ferster) Reitz.  Arlene was the widow of Thomas E. Trouton whom she married on December 28, 1944.

Arlene’s survivors include her children, Thomas R. Trouton and his wife S. Montienne of Mechanicsburg, Sandra Stilz and her husband Robert of Indianapolis; three granddaughters, Melissa Trouton of WI, Katie Stilz and Sarah Stilz both of IN; two grandsons, Thomas Trouton of VA, Paul Johnson of WI; two sisters, Loy Heim of Camp Hill, Lena Lenker of Dalmatia; and several nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Arlene in death are seven brothers and sisters.

Arlene was a resident of Mechanicsburg from 1988 through 2004 before moving to the Bridges at Bent Creek , where she resided until her final days.  She had spent her married life in Northern New Jersey with the exception of three years (1964-67), living in Freemont, CA.  Arlene worked many years in the Trosts Bakery Shop in Summit, NJ, and also at Westinghouse in Newark, NJ where she tested and calibrated altimeters used in B24 Bombers .

All are welcome to join Arlene’s family at her Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 3:00 to 4:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. A reception will immediately follow the gathering in the Terrace Room at Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village , 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Burial will be held in Somerset Hill Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ at the convenience of the family.  Cremation was private.
