Arlie Elizabeth (Sarver) Lehmer, age 87, of Mechanicsburg , died at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Born in Pittsburgh, on Thursday, August 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Barbara (Houser) Mainhart. Arlie was the widow of Elwood Dietrich Lehmer whom she married on September 26, 1947.
Arlie’s survivors include her children, Cynthia Bassett of Mechanicsburg and her husband James, Kathleen Shenk of Carlisle and her husband Frank, Vicki Bender of Mechanicsburg and her husband Marlin, Elwood Lehmer II of Mechanicsburg; her grandchildren, Michael Alexander, Stephanie Fabiano, Ryan Walker; her great-grandchildren, Alena Alexander, Logan Fabiano, Colin Walker, Natalie Walker, and Nicholas Walker.
Arlie retired from Book of the Month in Mechanicsburg, after 19 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. Arlie loved to read, tend to her flowers, travel to the casinos and especially enjoyed shopping and car rides with her children. She was an excellent housekeeper. Arlie made sure her children had the very best of whatever they needed. Her world evolved around her children.
Services and burial will be private and at the family's convenience. The family suggests memorial contributions to Molly’s Place , 5520 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
