Audrey Sue (Barnes) Shilling

Audrey Sue (Barnes) Shilling, age 94, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, May 17, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Sue, as she was known, was born on Tuesday, September 1, 1925, in Brookville, PA, daughter of the late Doyle A. and Lula (Hopkins) Barnes.  Sue was the widow of Frank A. Shilling, whom she married on May 4, 1946, and who died on October 25, 2012.  In addition to her parents and husband, Sue is preceded in death by her infant son, David Shilling; and her two brothers:  Robert Barnes of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Joseph Barnes of Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Sue’s survivors include two children: Dr. Daniel Shilling and wife Pamela of Phoenix, AZ; Debra K. Bricker of Camp Hill, PA; her two grandsons: Zachary Bricker of Harrisburg, PA, and Michael Hughes and wife Alice of New Cumberland, PA; and her two great-granddaughters Emma and Hannah Hughes of New Cumberland, PA.

Sue graduated from Brookville High School as part of the class of 1943, and retired from Erie Insurance Group in Mechanicsburg as a claims secretary in 1991.  She attended the Christian Life Assembly Church in Camp Hill, PA, and was a member of Senior Citizens Bowling League at Trindle Bowl in Mechanicsburg.  Sue loved traveling, crossword puzzles, and embroidering.

Sue’s immediate services will be private while family and friends are encouraged to remain safely at home.  Interment in Brookville Cemetery in Brookville, Pennsylvania, will be at the convenience of the family.  Cremation was private.
