Barbara “Barb” Suzanne (Yost) Beistline

Barbara “Barb” Suzanne (Yost) Beistline, 69, of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Friday, March 22, 2013. She was born in Harrisburg, on Monday, January 17, 1944, daughter of the late Edward Cecil Yost and Anna Martha (Lytle) Yost. Barb was the widow of James “Jim” Roy Beistline to whom she married on August 16, 1962 and who died on November 21, 2012.
Barb’s survivors include her two loving daughters, Michele L. Motter and her husband Andrew of Mechanicsburg, Jamie R. Mitchell and her husband Todd of Mechanicsburg; her three grandchildren, Ryan M. Taylor and his fiancé Tiffany Hoffman and their children Dylan and Payton all of Mechanicsburg, Paige and Natalie Mitchell both of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Barb in death is her sister, Priscilla L. Kauffman.
Barb graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1962. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Mechanicsburg, the Washington Fire Company No. 1 in Mechanicsburg, and the Enola Sportsman’s Association . Barb was formerly the Banquet Manager at the American Legion Post #109 in Mechanicsburg. She was a great cook and baker and even won a blue ribbon for her famous apple pie. A homemaker extraordinaire, you could eat from Barb’s floors. The care she took in creating and maintaining a spotless home was second only to her devotion to her beloved late husband and their children and grandchildren. Barb enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and traveling with her family. She was a loving and caring lady who gave of herself freely. Barb will be missed and loved forever.
All are welcome to join Barb’s family at her Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 1:00 until time of Graveside Service at 1:30 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery , 137 West Marble Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Reverend John J. Ward-Diorio officiating. Interment will immediately follow the Graveside Service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Washington Fire Company No. 1 , 53 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania who so lovingly cared for Barb during her illness.
