Barbara Ann (Jones) Kendall, age 88, of Camp Hill, died on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Barbara was born on Wednesday, July 22, 1936, in Mechanicsburg to the late Gordon Buck Jones and Loretta (Whitaker) Jones. Barbara was the widow of Doyle Rosevelt Kendall, whom she married on December 5, 1959, and who died on April 4, 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara is preceded in death by her brothers: Tom Jones, Gordon Jones, Jr.; and her grandson: Sean Burry.
Barbara’s survivors include her four daughters: Kim Fishel of Camp Hill, Monica Cowan and husband Matt, of Mechanicsburg, Tina Andrews of Chicago, IL, Laurie Dougherty and husband David, of New Cumberland; her five grandchildren: Sam Fishel, Jeremy Kendall, Jasin Gacono, Alicia Dougherty, Nora Andrews; her two great-grandchildren: Kendall Gacono, Connor Benfante; her eight siblings: Bill Jones of New Cumberland, Mike Whitaker of New Cumberland, Shirley Waltman of Camp Hill, Jeanne Jacobs of New Cumberland, Kathy Hooper of Camp Hill, Sandie Jones of New Cumberland, Connie Miller and husband William, of Harrisburg, Cheryl White and husband Nate of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara attended Lemoyne High School. She retired from Book of the Month Club in 1991, after many years of service as part of the clerical staff. Barbara attended the First Church of God for many years. She was a fan of game shows on television. Barbara also enjoyed watching Penn State Football and figure skating. She enjoyed activities such as cooking, karaoke, and card club with her sisters. Barbara was particularly fond of Rootbeer floats and pizza. She cherished her family and loved reciting the Lord’s Prayer with her daughter, Kim. Barbara will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
All are welcome to join Barbara’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. A Graveside service will follow at 11:45 a.m. in Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
