Barbara “Barb” Lee (Smith) Martin

Barbara “Barb” Lee (Smith) Martin, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.  Barb was born on Monday, June 15, 1953, in Santa Barbara, CA to the late Robert Franklin Smith and Benita (Silva) Smith.  Barb was the widow of Henry Paul Martin, whom she married in 1999, and who died on February 12, 2012.  In addition to her parents and husband, Barb is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Hurd.

Barb’s survivors include her three daughters: Monica Schulte and her husband, Jake, of Dillsburg; Christine “Chrissy” Fathree of Mechanicsburg; Charity Kopinetz and her husband, Jeremy, of Camp Hill; her seven grandchildren: William Fathree, Elizabeth Cormack, Dominique Fathree, Emily Fathree, Haley Fathree, Seth Rubendall, Noah Kopinetz; her seven great-grandchildren: Jaiden, Breylin, Aniyah, Braxton, Jaxon, Rylee, Avianna; her brother, Robert Smith and his wife, Ann Marie, of Thomasville; her two sisters: Beatrice Foster of Jonestown; Bonnie Curlee of Grove, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

Barb was truly one of a kind.  She had the biggest smile that brightened every room and an infectious laugh.  She always accepted everyone just as they are and made an impact on each and every person she came in contact with.  She loved to laugh and crack jokes.  Her unfiltered sense of humor was the absolute best!  She was quick witted and brutally honest. She was a giver and a caretaker her entire life.  Barb lived for her family and always put others first.  No one will ever forget the love she had for her high heels, jewelry, white teeth, Jesus, dancing, and of course, her bacon.  The world will definitely be a lot more dull without her smile.  She will be greatly missed.

Barb’s family will be remembering her life privately.  Cremation was private.
