Bessie graduated from Everett High School as part of the class of 1946 where she met her husband during their sophomore year.  She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. Bessie retired from Reeves-Hoffman Crystal Plant in Carlisle, after many years of service.  She also worked at Howard Johnson on the Pennsylvania Turnpike as a waitress and at Rohemsbaum Department Store in Cumberland, Maryland. Bessie and her husband enjoyed making crafts and travelling to sell them. The high school sweethearts also traveled to Europe three times together and went cross-country to California in their motor home. Bessie had a talent for sewing and loved doing it. If she wasn’t sewing, she could be found gardening and tending to her flowers.
