Betty “Bebe” Jane (Meyer) Britton

A Beautiful Woman Inside & Out -

Betty “Bebe” Jane (Meyer) Britton, age 65, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, went home peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2018.  Betty was born on Sunday, March 29, 1953 in Harrisburg to the late Joseph John Meyer, Sr. and Jean Virginia (Rader) Meyer.  In addition to her parents, Bebe is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Michael Beasom; and her three siblings: Joseph John Meyer, Jr., Bonnie “Sissy” Lou Fisher, and John Joseph Meyer.

Betty’s survivors include her husband of 19 years, Dr. Wesley Alan Britton; her son, Joseph “Joe” John Beasom of Newport; her three grandchildren; her three siblings: Barbara “Barb” Jean Hammaker and her husband, Lester, of Harrisburg, Dennis Eugene Meyer and his wife, Tammy, of Mechanicsburg, Jerry Eugene Meyer and his wife, Kathy, of Mechanicsburg; numerous several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Clipper.

Bebe graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1971.  She retired from Concentra, Inc. in 2014, after working in a clerical position for her whole life with various companies.  Betty was a past member of Young’s United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.  She loved the beach and having conversations with her friends.  Bebe enjoyed crocheting and creating blankets for her family.  She cherished the time that she spent with her husband, Wes, especially when the two would watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy together.  Betty also liked to stay caught up on her reality TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, and The Voice.  Above all else, Betty loved her grandchildren and held dear the time she spent with them.

All are welcome to join Bebe’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, May 4, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor G. Barry Stahl officiating.  Betty’s family invites everyone to join them for a Dutch treat style lunch at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, 743 Wertzville Road, Enola, PA 17025 following the service.  Cremation was private.
