Betty Jane (Weaver) Potteiger
Reunited with Her Beloved Husband -
Betty Jane (Weaver) Potteiger, age 94, of Bethany Towers in Mechanicsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2017, while at Holy Spirit Hospital and after a massive stroke. She is now at that wonderful home where there is no pain, suffering, or sorrow.
Betty was born on Saturday, April 28, 1923 in West Fairview to the late Chester Weaver and Nellie Mae (Sites) Weaver. Betty was the widow of Alfred Earl Potteiger, whom she married in 1941 and who died on May 1, 1982, and who Betty always said was the only man she ever loved. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Marlin Weaver, and her sister, Ethel Holler.
Betty’s survivors include her daughter, Janet Sager and her husband, Joseph, of New Cumberland; her two grandchildren: Janel Sager of New Cumberland, Joel Sager and his wife, Angela, of Pittsburgh; and her four great grandchildren: Jaelyn Gaither, Joseph Sager, Valerie Sager, and Natalie Sager.
All are welcome to join Betty’s family at her viewing on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Michael Shuff officiating. Betty’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the café next to Myers- Buhrig immediately following the service. Burial will follow the reception in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill. Honored to be pallbearers are: Jaelyn Gaither, Kenneth Marshall, Janel Sager, Joel Sager, Joseph Sager, and Patrick Sager.
The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone at Home Instead and most especially to Beverly Bell, Betty’s primary caregiver, who became part of Betty’s family and who showed tremendous commitment, care, and dedication. Appreciation is also sent to everyone at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.
