Betty Mildred (Heimbaugh) Sarver

An Excellent Homemaker -

Betty Mildred (Heimbaugh) Sarver, 83, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Newport died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle.  She was born on Thursday, November 17, 1927 in Newport the daughter of the late Espen Ulysses and Carrie (Renninger) Heimbaugh.  Betty was the widow of Ivan Leroy Sarver who she married on April 12, 1947.

Betty graduated from Newport High School. She worked at both the Navy Depot Credit Union and the Filbert Elementary School Cafeteria. She loved being a homemaker and was excellent at it.  Betty was a good and loving mother and grandmother.  She greatly enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her baked beans and Christmas cookies.

Betty’s survivors include her loving children, one daughter: Cheryl Ann Nickel and her husband Paul of Plainfield; one son: Dennis L. Sarver of Shermans Dale; one grandson: Thomas; two granddaughters: Beverly, Jennifer; and one great granddaughter: Zandra.  Among those preceding Betty in death are her loving husband of 64 years, Ivan Leroy Sarver, and her parents.

All are welcome to join Betty’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, from 9:00 until time of service at 10:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055, (717) 766-3421, www.Myers-Buhrig.com with Reverend Donald E. Potter officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.  Betty’s family invites everyone to join them for a Time of Food and Fellowship at Hoss’s Restaurant in Mechanicsburg immediately following the burial.
