Betty Windemaker

August 27, 1927 — February 8, 2025

Betty Jane was born on August 27, 1927, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to Claude Reichard and Jennie Ney. She married Robert Lee Windemaker on September 22, 1951, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and they were married for 49 years. They had two children during their marriage - Robert Jr. and Beth. Their first home was adjacent to the Conodoguinet at Willow Mill Run, and about 20 years later Bob built them a forever home on the hill between Sterretts Gap and Wertzville Road. Betty was the third eldest of her siblings - Dorothy (1923), Floyd (1925), Pearl (1930), Carl (1932), Bernice (1934), Lloyd (1935), Francis (1937), Gloria Jean (1940). In her youth, she enjoyed roller skating and other sports. After marriage she enjoyed crocheting, fishing, camping, crossword puzzles, playing card games and pottery. She was an avid Penn State football fan and loved watching the football games with her friends. She also loved attending Cumberland Valley High School football games with her friends. She was proud of her time working at ITT Terryphone and retired from a management position. Betty was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in New Kingston, PA. She enjoyed time with her fellow parishioners and helped wrap pine trees and participated always in "My Secret Pal" at church. She especially looked forward to the church's hand-made candy Easter eggs.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Betty and Robert enjoyed spending times fishing and camping and time at the beach with their good friends, Dorothy and Charlie Miller and Richard and Patricia Lingle.

Betty is survived by her son Robert Jr. (Lanette), daughter Beth (Dan Atkins), granddaughter Angie (Chris Barton), grandson John Robert (JR) Blair, great-grandson Gage Barton and great-granddaughter Emma Barton.
