A Loving Mother and Grandmother -

Betty Jane (Anewalt) Gall, age 88, formerly of Camp Hill, passed away at Messiah Lifeways on Sunday, November 15, 2020.  Betty Jane was born on Saturday, May 28, 1932 in Palmerton, PA to the late Clayton L. Anewalt and Mamie E. (Weidaw) Anewalt.  Betty Jane was the widow of Joseph Angelo Gall, whom she married on August 4, 1956.  In addition to her parents and husband, Betty Jane is preceded in death by her eight brothers.

Betty Jane’s survivors include her three daughters:  Michele Warren and husband, Bradley; Joanne Gallo; and Diane Long and husband, Gregory, all of Mechanicsburg; her three grandchildren:  David Long and wife, Andrea; Shannon Long, and Adam Warren; and her brother James Anewalt and wife, Christine, of Lehighton, PA.

Betty Jane graduated from Palmerton Area High School.  She worked for Segel’s Department Store in Palmerton as a salesclerk and later for the Roller-Smith Company in Bethlehem, PA as an assembler.  Upon moving to Harrisburg, she worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue as a clerk.  Betty Jane was a long-time member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill.  She was a wonderful mother and homemaker who loved to bake delicious treats for her family.  She was an avid sports fan, especially of Penn State football, and attended many of her grandchildren’s own sporting events.  Betty Jane also liked music, flowers and loved to take walks outside.  She enjoyed attending performances at the Allenberry Playhouse with her friends.  All who knew Betty Jane knew she was kindhearted, friendly and willing to reach out and lend a hand to anyone.  Betty Jane cherished her family and especially loved being a grandmother.

All are welcome to join Betty Jane’s family at her viewing on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  The Reverend Timothy J. Sahd is officiating.  A private burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.  Honored to be pallbearers are Joanne Gallo; Gregory and David Long; and Bradley, Michele and Adam Warren.
