Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Daughter, & Sister -
Carmen (Diaz) Uddin, age 63, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Manhattan, passed away at home on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Carmen was born on Tuesday, September 23, 1952 in Santiago in the Dominican Republic to Antonio Diaz and the late Maria Pilar Lopez. In addition to her mother, Carmen is preceded in death by one brother.
Carmen’s survivors include her two daughters: Mandavi Hernandez and her husband, Alberto, of Mechanicsburg, Fozia Uddin of Elmhurst, NY; her seven grandchildren: Myleen, Joshua and his wife, Elaine, Lucy, Josie and her husband, Jonathon, Ariel and her husband, Ricky, Camille, JR.; her eight great-grandchildren: Niko, Nena, Alex, Macho, RJ, Elle, Eli, Missy, Eliana; her eight siblings: Simon, Adon, Luis, Julio, Eno, Robert, Clara, Sandra; and her former spouse, Ramlal “Paul” Ramsamooj.
Carmen loved to write poetry and songs. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed decorating for the holidays. Carmen loved her grandchildren and her “great grands”. She was a proud grandmother of four grandchildren who are currently serving in the military. Carmen was a wonderful woman who will be deeply missed by many friends and family.
All are welcome to join Carmen’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
