Carol “Maxine” Maxine (Hinish) King

Loving Mother, Grandmother, & Great-Grandmother -

Carol “Maxine” Maxine (Hinish) King, age 84, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Martinsburg, went home to be with her Lord and family on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.  Maxine was born on Wednesday, February 21, 1934 in Duncansville to the late Milton “Hoodle” Harshburg and Lydia (Brumbaugh) Harshburg.  Maxine was the widow of Alvin Ross King, whom she married on October 30, 1954, and who died on March 25, 1969.

Maxine’s survivors include her two sons: Alan “Al” King and his wife, Wanda, of Carlisle, Jeffrey “Jeff” King of Huber Heights, OH; her three grandchildren: Jennifer Mottern and her companion, Zach Judy, of Carlisle, Robert Mottern and his companion, Kaitlyn Jordan, of Middletown; her three great-grandchildren: Tyler Judy of Carlisle, Olivia Judy of Carlisle, Ayden Jordan of Middletown; and her faithful feline companion, Rusty.

Maxine graduated from Hollidaysburg High School as part of the class of 1952.  She loved to read, especially any murder mystery books and the newspaper.  Maxine also enjoyed going out to breakfast regularly.  She loved to swim and watch her two favorite football teams, Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her great-grandchildren.

Maxine’s family will be remembering her life privately.  Cremation was private.
