A Natural Caretaker -

Carol Jean (Kegris) Morrow, age 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.  Carol was born on Friday, October 8, 1943 in Harrisburg to the late Albert Russell Kegris and Norma Ruth (Martz) Kegris Yost.

Carol’s survivors include her husband of 56 years, Robert “Bob” Eugene Morrow; her three daughters: Dianne McVey and her husband, Michael, of Mechanicsburg, Kristin Hyser and her husband, Jeffrey, of Mechanicsburg, Tammy Morrow and her husband, Ronald Jackson, of Sunset Beach, NC; her eight grandchildren: Erin Sproul, Samantha Sproul, Jeffrey Morrow, Braden Hyser, Kirsty Hyser, Zev Auchey, Dakotah Nelson, Parker Nelson; her six great-grandchildren; her two sisters: Cindy Roney and her husband, James, of New Bloomfield, Kathi Laubenstine and her husband, David, of Mechanicsburg; her sister-in-law, Carole Morrow of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

When Carol was a baby, she and her mother rode a troop train to Mississippi and Tennessee to be with her father before he was deployed for World War II.  Carol was a 1961 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, where she was majorette in the marching band.  She met her future husband when they were 16 years old.  They were later married on January 19, 1963, approximately three months after he completed basic training.  They spent several years in Europe while her husband served in the U.S. Army, living in France and Germany.

During her childhood, she helped take care of her two sisters, who were much younger than she was.  Carol also enjoyed spending time with her cousins and grandparents.  After graduating from high school, Carol attended Central Penn Business School, taking nursing classes while she worked as a candy striper.  Carol enjoyed bowling with the neighborhood league, baking, cooking, and holiday gatherings.  She especially enjoyed watching the Food Network channel and QVC in her most recent years.  Carol enjoyed camping, going to the beach, traveling, and anything to do with history.

All are welcome to join Carol’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 12:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Interment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
