Cathleen “Cathy” Elizabeth (Pearman) Martin

An Absolute Sweetheart -

Cathleen “Cathy” Elizabeth (Pearman) Martin, age 42, of Etters, and formerly of Maryland, died at home on Friday, April 15, 2016.  Cathy was born on Thursday, January 10, 1974 in Baltimore, MD to the late Samuel Thomas Pearman and Gail Elizabeth Pearman.

Cathy’s survivors include her two daughters: Kayla Beinhaur and Kaitlyn Martin; her one sister, Monnica Pearman and her significant other, Jules Claghorn; her companion, Zachary Smith of Etters; and her best friend, Carol (Westbrook) Swearingen of Baltimore, MD.

Cathy loved her job in web design and graphics, working since 2008 for Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.  She was a member of Saint Theresa Parish in New Cumberland for the past 18 years.  Cathy was an active volunteer with NAMI and Relay for Life.  A devoted Baltimore Ravens fan, Cathy sported Ravens apparel and accessories during the season.  She also liked to get dressed up in nice clothing and had a special affinity for jewelry.  Cathy enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and animals.  She had a silly side that she often showed when getting her picture taken.  Cathy is remembered by everyone who knew her as a sweetheart with a loving, kind, huge heart.  She had a way of caring for people that made them feel embraced in her compassionate essence.  Cathy was stubborn when she needed to be and became more determined when she was told she could not do something.   Cathy’s daughter, Kayla, describes her mother as a strong woman who did not give up easily.  She was a survivor; recovering from a car accident and battling cancer and other illnesses in recent years.  Kayla warmly remembers her mom’s beautiful, perfect smile and the way her eyes always had a special sparkle.  Above all, Cathy deeply loved her daughters and they knew it.

All are welcome to join Cathy’s family at her viewing on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and for her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Theresa Parish, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070; with Reverend J. Michael McFadden celebrating.  Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Cathy’s family invites everyone to join them for a Dutch treat reception and greeting of guests at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House in Mechanicsburg following the burial.
