Charles Edward Peffer, age 88, of Camp Hill, PA, and formerly of Carrollton, TX, and Toledo, OH, died at Messiah Village on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Charles was born on Monday, November 19, 1928 in Erie, PA, to the late Carl Peffer and Clara (Goetz) Peffer. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Peffer, and his brother, Jack Peffer.
Charles’ survivors include his two sons: Joseph Peffer of Harrisburg, Frank Peffer and his wife, Kelly, of Selinsgrove; his four grandchildren: Alexa, Joshua, Brianna, and Zachary; his great-granddaughter, Adra Stamey; and his two sisters: Mary Burdett, and Helen Young; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles traveled the world as a wildcatter for Mobil searching for oil across the globe. He loved his work and never dreamed of retirement. His sons remember him as a simple man who lived a private and quiet life.
All are welcome to join Charles’ family at his gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with The Reverend Thomas J. Rozman officiating. Burial of cremated remains in Calvary Cemetery in Erie, PA, will be at the convenience of the family.
