Charlotte Edna (Gardner) Gallagher

Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother -

Charlotte Edna (Gardner) Gallagher, age 93, of Mechanicsburg, died on Monday, September 4, 2017, at Holy Spirit Hospital.  Charlotte was born on Thursday, January 17, 1924 in New Cumberland to the late Charles Harry Gardner and Edna Pearl (Arbogast) Gardner.  Charlotte was the widow of Roland “Dutch” J. Gallagher, whom she married on October 23, 1982, and who died on November 19, 2007

Charlotte’s survivors include her daughter, Linda Ilgenfritz of Camp Hill; her two granddaughters: Heather Deburkarte and her husband, Dan, of Dover, Tracy Eveler of York; and her two great-granddaughters: Jennifer Eveler and Amanda Eveler.

Charlotte attended New Cumberland High School.  She was a life member of VFW Memorial Post 6704 Auxiliary and American Legion Post #109, both of Mechanicsburg.  Charlotte was also a member of the Enola Sportsmen’s Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299 in Carlisle, and AARP.  She was a life member of the VFW National Home for Children and Scotland School for Veteran’s Children.

All are welcome to join Charlotte’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Monday, September 11, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Nancy Kreiner officiating.  Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.  Cremation was private.  Charlotte’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the VFW Memorial Post 6704, 4907 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, following the interment.
