Cheryl Jolene (Fetter) Hanna

Cheryl Jolene (Fetter) Hanna, age 77, of Camp Hill, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023.  Cheryl was born on Tuesday, November 6, 1945, in Shippensburg to the late Herbert Leonard Fetter, Sr. Olive Pearl (Baker) Fetter.  Cheryl was the widow of Francis J. Hanna, who died on May 7, 2014.  In addition to her parents and husband, Cheryl is preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Flynn, Jr., and her two brothers, Herbert Fetter, Jr. and Richard Fetter.

Cheryl’s survivors include her daughter, Kimberly “Kim” (Ritter) Fortini and her husband, Rick, of Mechanicsburg; her three step-grandchildren: Ashley Sweigart, Tyler Fortini, Crystal Fortini; her five step great-grandchildren: Ayden Fortini, Silas Barshinger, Julian Winters, Gianna Fortini, Nova Deleon; her brother, Larry Fetter, Sr. of Gettysburg; her sister, H. Louise Miller of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.

Cheryl graduated from Gettysburg High School as part of the class of 1963 and retired from Gettysburg College, after over 43 years of service working as a secretary.  She was a member of American Legion Post 14 in Hanover and the Hanover Moose Lodge 227.  Cheryl found being outdoors very peaceful and often sat on her porch enjoying nature.  She always surrounded herself with pets of all kinds and loved spending time with her family.  She liked going on vacation and her favorites were going to the beach in Ocean City, MD and visiting Gatlinburg, TN with her parents.  Cheryl was always having a good time and laughing.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, most especially Rummy, and listening and singing along to her favorite music, Old Country.  Cheryl’s memory will live on with her friends and family.

All are welcome to join Cheryl’s family at her celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory).  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Cremation was private.
