Cindy Marie (Kobel) Smith

Cindy Marie (Kobel) Smith, age 65, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.  Cindy was born on Wednesday, January 30, 1957, in Patchogue to Shirley Anne (Rolfe) White and the late William Henry Kobel.  In addition to her father, Cindy is preceded in death by her infant son; her granddaughter, Savannah; her brother, George Kobel; her step-father, Robert White; and her sister in-law, Nancy Kobel.

Cindy’s survivors include her husband of 45 years, Leslie “Les” Smith, Sr.; her seven children: Janine Smith and her wife, Emily Jacobsen, of Mechanicsburg; Justin “Bud” Smith, Sr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Harrisburg; Jessica Smith of Enola; Jason “Jay” Smith and his wife, Sasha, of Carlisle; Joseph “Joey” Smith of Charleston, IL; Jeffrey “Jeff” Smith and his wife Jocelyn, of Harrisburg; Janessa Aikens and her husband, Christopher, of Carlisle; her 16 grandchildren: Jordan, Michaela, Justin Jr., Genea, Nevaeh, Dominic, Kamryn, Arianna, Azaiah, Roman, Ella, Colton, Carter, Lincoln, Nolan and Emma; her mother, Shirley White; her  three brothers: William “Billy” Kobel, David Kobel, Steven Kobel; her two sisters: Betty DeAbreu and Michelle Dankievitch; and several nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to join Cindy’s family at her celebration of life on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at New Kingstown Fire Company Banquet Hall, 277 North Locust Point Road, New Kingstown, PA 17072.  Cremation was private.
