Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather -

Clifford “Cliff” Allen Ward, Sr., age 69, of Dillsburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 29, 2018, after a hard fought battle with cancer.  Cliff was born on Monday, May 30, 1949 in Mechanicsburg to the late Richard Boyd Ward, Sr. and Betty Jane (Long) Ward.  In addition to his parents, Cliff is preceded in death by his son, Clifford Allen Ward, Jr.

Cliff’s survivors include his wife of 47 years, Patricia “Pat” Ann (Sheely) Ward; his mother-in-law who loved him as her own son, Betty R. Bitner of Camp Hill; his daughter, Jennifer “Jen” A. Bushey and her husband, Kent, of Dillsburg; his three grandsons: Jack, Kyle, and Henry; his sister, Lois Snyder; and his large extended family.

Cliff attended Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.  Cliff worked for Keystone Railway Equipment Company in Camp Hill and then retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot.  If Cliff wasn’t showing off his beloved red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, he could be found working around the house, hunting, or spending time at the cabin.  There was always something to be worked on and Cliff was not one to relax. He cherished the time with his family, and friends and the memories they made together, especially when his three grandsons were involved.

All are welcome to join Cliff’s family at his graveside service on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  The Cumberland County Honor Guard will present full military honors.
