Colleen Ellen (Coldren) Reed, age 78, of Carlisle, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2015.  Colleen was born on Saturday, February 20, 1937 in Harrisburg to the late Charles Coldren and Elizabeth (Thran) Coldren.  In addition to her parents, Colleen is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Coldren, and her sister, Diane Coldren.

Colleen’s survivors include her husband of 55 years, Lloyd A. Reed, Jr.; her three children: Bonnie Reed of Mechanicsburg, David Reed of Hanover, Michael Reed of Enola; and her two grandchildren: Cory Dorsey and Adam Reed.

Colleen lived for her children and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  One of her favorite pastimes was shopping especially with her daughter, Bonnie.  She had a tremendous affection for babies and she took every opportunity to adore them.  Colleen enjoyed floral design and loved the time she spent working at Shenandoah Floral in Mechanicsburg.

All are welcome to join Colleen’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 30, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George A. Spangler.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Lloyd Reed, David Reed, Michael Reed, and Adam Reed.  Burial will be private and at the families convenience in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, www.HospiceOfCentralPA.org .
