Connie Ann (Weidenhof) Stevick
A Special Person -
Connie Ann (Weidenhof) Stevick, age 50, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Newport, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. Connie was born on Tuesday, February 3, 1970, in Harrisburg to the late Thomas Howard Weidenhof, Sr. and Doris (Frye) Weidenhof. In addition to her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her brothers: Glenn Weidnehoff and Harvey Brown; and her sister, Mabel Weidenhof.
Connie’s survivors include her husband, Joseph Gary Stevick; her son: Leroy Alan Gutshall of Newport; her two grandchildren: Gregory Davis Gutshall and Willow Jayden Gutshall, both of Lykens; her brother, Thomas “Tommy” Howard Weidenhof, Jr. of Newport; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Connie was a member of Cumberland Valley Brethren in Christ Church in Dillsburg and the American Legion Post #109 in Mechanicsburg. She was a fan of NASCAR and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. Connie also enjoyed attending dirt track races with Joe. They watched many races from the pits and met the drivers. Connie spent much of her time crafting. She enjoyed painting and beadwork. Connie was very musical and loved to sing and listen to music, especially country and contemporary Christian music. Connie was a great cook, and she loved to cook and share meals with her family and friends.
Connie loved all children and treated every child as if they were her own. She cherished the time she spent playing with, teaching, and nurturing children. Connie’s family will dearly miss her special nature.
All are welcome to join Connie’s family at her viewing in person and via video chat and telephone on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of her in person and virtual service at 1:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Chaplain Kent Carter officiating. Burial will be at the family’s convenience in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
