Constance “Connie” Louise Moyer

Adored her Grandchildren -

Constance “Connie” Louise Moyer, age 82, of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 29, 2017.  Connie was born on Thursday, October 18, 1934 in Coaldale, PA, daughter of the late George and Adelia.  Connie was the widow of Melvin Albert Moyer, whom she married on July 19, 1958, and who died on November 5, 1995.  In addition to her husband, Connie is preceded in death by her brother, William; and her grandson, Timothy Alan Moyer.

Connie’s survivors include her six children: Thomas A. Moyer of Morgantown, Jerry E. Moyer of New Cumberland, Gregory L. Moyer of Lebanon, Brian K. Moyer of Shermans Dale, Theresa M. Tritt-Hartdegen and her husband, Stephen, of Harrisburg, Eric W. Moyer of Mechanicsburg; her seven grandchildren;  four  great-grandchildren, her three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Connie graduated from Mauch Chunk Catholic High School in Jim Thorpe, PA in the 1940s.  She was a member of St. Theresa Parish in New Cumberland since she moved to the area in 1964.  From 1975 until its’ closing in 1994, Connie happily worked as a cashier at the AAFES Exchange at the New Cumberland Army Depot.  She then worked for EDS/Prime Star as a customer service representative for more than 15 years.  The next few years found her working the ticket window at Cinema Center in Camp Hill.  Walmart in Etters was where she offered a friendly greeting to so many for the past five years and where she developed many wonderful friendships.

Connie was an expert worrier.  She was always watching out for her beloved family and was the glue that held them all together.  Knitting and sewing were some of her favorite past times along with doing her word searches and her bowling league.  More than anything, Connie cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was thrilled to purchase each of them their first rocking chair and table with chairs.

All are welcome to join Connie’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until time of prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and for her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Parish, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070; with Reverend J. Michael McFadden Celebrating.  Connie’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the Mass.  Burial will follow the reception in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
