Corrine Arlene (Johnson) Boone
Dependable ~ Supportive ~ Devoted
Corrine Arlene (Johnson) Boone, age 83, of Shiremanstown, died at VibraLife in Mechanicsburg on Monday, November 13, 2017. Corrine was born on Saturday, June 23, 1934 in Shamokin to the late William Johnson and Myrtle (Johns) Johnson. In addition to her parents, Corrine is preceded in death by many of her beloved dogs.
Corrine’s survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Donald “Boonie” Norman Boone; her son, David D. Boone and his wife, Nannette, of Enola; her granddaughter; and her grand-dog, Hooper.
Corrine retired from the Pennsylvania School Board Association. She was a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church for over 20 years and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and The Grand Council of the Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America. Corrine was proud to be a “Coal Cracker” and cherished the deep friendships she developed while living in Coal Township. She was a hard worker and forever dependable and to her family she was completely devoted and unendingly supportive. David recalls that Corrine never missed one of his sporting events and he could always hear her cheering, even over large crowds. Perhaps more than anything, Corrine showed her love and care for her family through her scratch cooking. Everything was made with her own two hands and she spent hours in her kitchen. The family joyfully remembers her sand tart cookies and zillions of other Christmas cookies, her love of coffee, and her sauerkraut which was her special indulgence that she enjoyed much more than her family. All of these things are now cherished memories that keep Corrine’s memory alive.
All are welcome to join Corrine’s family at her viewing on Monday, November 20, 2017, from 11:15 a.m. until time of casket closing at 12:15 p.m. and at her funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. all at Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, 125 East Main Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011; with Reverend Logan Garth Swanger officiating.
