Life of the Party -
Crystel Lee (Landis) Smith, 61, of Mechanicsburg , died at home on Saturday, August 17, 2013. She was born in Lebanon, on Sunday, December 23, 1951, daughter of Joan (Dissinger) Landis and the late Dale W. Landis. Crystel was the wife of William Joseph Smith, whom she married on December 21, 1974.
Crystel’s survivors include her loving husband of 38 years, William Joseph Smith; her two sons, Andrew W. Smith and his wife Jessica of Enola, Matthew D. Smith of Plano, TX; her grandson, Nathanial Smith; her brother, Eric Landis and his wife Deborah of Carlisle; her sister, Cynthia Hartlieb and her husband Victor of Lebanon; her mother, Joan Landis of Lebanon, and several nieces and nephews.
Crystel graduated from Lebanon High School as part of the class of 1968. She worked at Weisers Food Market (formerly Keefers) in Mechanicsburg for over 26 years as a front end manager. Crystel enjoyed playing cards and visiting Hollywood Casino. She was lovingly devoted to her grandson, Nathanial. Crystel was always smiling and laughing, and truly loved being around people. Everyone knew her as “the life of the party”.
All are welcome to join Crystel’s family at her viewing on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm and on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:45 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church , 400 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Cremation and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private and at the family’s convenience.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Heart Association , 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
