Daniel “Dan” Wesley Baker, 89, of Camp Hill , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died at Golden Living and with his wife by his side on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.  He was born in Franklintown, PA, on Sunday, May 25, 1924, son of the late Samuel C. Baker and Lottie Grace (Knob) Baker.  Dan was the husband of Betty Jane (Barker) Baker to whom he was married for 65 years.

Dan’s survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jane (Barker) Baker; his daughter, Becky Anita (Baker) MacMurray and her husband Frederick of Camp Hill; his two granddaughters, Brenda MacMurray and her children Sierra and David all of Texas, and Patricia Wittlinger and her husband Robert and their children Rhianna and Robert all of Michigan.  Among those preceding Dan in death are his three brothers and one sister.

Dan was a proud Army Veteran of World War II, having served as a medic.  He was retired from Hewlett-Packard, formerly Thompson Products in Harrisburg.  A self-taught amateur photographer, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter as they discussed and practiced photography together.  Dan’s love of art led him to become an oil painter and he was known to be an enthusiastic Gettysburg Battlefield historian.  His vegetable gardening skills were renowned and much appreciated by all who enjoyed the fruits of his labors.

All are welcome to join Dan’s family at his graveside service with full military honors on Monday, January 27, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery , Annville, PA.
