Daniel “Dan” Gregory McKay, 51, of Mechanicsburg , died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 16, 2013, after a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. He was born in Rochester, PA, on Thursday, July 13, 1961, son of Marguerite Frances McGee of Mechanicsburg and Charles Francis McKay of Inverness, FL.
Dan’s survivors include his loving parents, Marguerite and Charles; loving siblings, Deb Holibaugh of Mechanicsburg, Terry McKay and his wife Brenda of Carlisle, Barbara Long of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Dan in death are his siblings, Mike, Larry, Bonnie, and Chuck.
Dan was the former owner/operator of Impressions Unlimited of Middletown. He was the personal assistant to Johnny Mathis and was a hair stylist at Jose Eber in Hollywood, CA. Dan loved to travel and never missed an opportunity to go to the beach. He was outgoing, kind, loving, and generous. Dan had an infectious laugh and was extremely close to his family.
All are welcome to join Dan’s family at his visitation on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 2:00 until time of service at 2:30 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Eric Funk officiating. Cremation will be private and at the family’s convenience.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania , 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
