A Humble, Loving and Kind Man -

Daniel “Dan” Leonard Zydorczyk, age 86, of Enola, and formerly of Toledo, OH and Warren, MI, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, June 12, 2021.  Dan was born on Sunday, August 12, 1934, in Toledo, OH to the late Anthony Zydorczyk and Catherine (Sorosiak) Zydorczyk.  In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his two sisters: Elizabeth Wyraz and Barbara Reuster.

Dan’s survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara “Barb” Jean (Kuszek) Zydorczyk; two children: Donald Zydorczyk of Mechanicsburg, Brenda Zydorczyk and significant other, James Ossulburn, of Export; his two grandsons: Aiden Ossulburn and Beckett Zydorczyk; his two siblings: Patricia “Patsy” Kosinski of Toledo, OH, David Zydorczyk and wife, Sharon, of Toledo, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Dan graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo as part of the class of 1952.  On September 14, 1954, he began serving his country in the United States Army.  Dan’s time in the military led him to a career where he was able to travel all over the globe working in supply logistics.  He retired from the USASAC (United States Army Security Assistance Command) at the New Cumberland Army Depot as the Director of Cooperative Logistics. Dan advanced in his career and became the number one civilian in charge.  In his retirement, he was Painting Red Rhinos first employee.  Dan was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill for 41 years.  As an avid stamp collector, he was a part of the Capital City Philatelic Society.  Dan traveled across the country with his family camping along the way.  Over a span of 50 years, they saw every state by RV.  The only exceptions were flying to Hawaii and cruising to Alaska. He and Barbara traveled the world from Europe to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Given his love of camping, he was a member of Starcraft Camping Club, Blue Mountain Sams Chapter #31, and Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA)’s Penn Coachmen, Inc. Chapter.  Dan was a kind and humble man with a gentle soul.  He was always generous with his time, no matter what anyone needed.  Most importantly, Dan always spent his time being a loving husband, father, Grandpa, Pap Pap, and friend to so many.

All are welcome to join Dan’s family on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his greeting of family and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with his Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:15 a.m., all at Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 East Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011; with Reverend Neil S. Sullivan Celebrating.  Dan’s family invites everyone for a light lunch and to visit with them immediately after Mass at the church.  Interment with military honors will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.  Honored to be urn bearers are: Aiden Ossulburn and Beckett Zydorczyk.  Friends and family are invited for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory), after the interment.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of our parking lots.  Cremation was private.
