David Ray Wilson
Loved Riding Bicycle -
David Ray Wilson, age 41, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Camp Hill , died tragically on Thursday, March 20, 2014, in a bicycle accident. He was born in Johnstown, on Tuesday, December 5, 1972, son of Kerry Lynn Wilson and Karen R. (Lehman) Wilson, both of whom survive him.
In addition to his loving parents, David’s survivors include his sister, Stacy Lynn Wilson and her fiancé Joe Sheridan and her daughter Raime Wilson, all of Mechanicsburg. Among those preceding David in death are his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Twila Lehman, and his paternal grandmother, Leora Wilson.
David graduated from Cedar Cliff High School as part of the class of 1991, and he worked at Wendy’s on Simpson Ferry Road in Mechanicsburg. He loved riding his bicycle and was excited to get out and ride on the first day of spring. His heart belonged to his two ferrets, Sweetie “the white one” and Bandit “the brown one”. David’s love of animals and babies was absolute. He was a simple man who was unendingly patient and tolerant. As a son, David was “a Godsend” to both his mother and his father, who he lovingly and thoughtfully cared for the past several years. Among David’s greatest accomplishments was his success in overcoming his addictions, which he did using nothing other than his own will. A self proclaimed music fanatic, David had a passion for “real” jazz and he was amazing with music trivia. He was a video game savant; able to conquer every video game he played.
