David “Dave” Michael Herr, 51, of Mechanicsburg died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, June 11, 1960 in Carlisle the son of Robert and Janet (Grassglass) Herr of Lititz and formerly of Mechanicsburg who both survive him.
Dave graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1978. He worked for PEBB Manufacturing in Carlisle as the Head of the Cutting Department; Painting Red Rhino and Aqua Treatment Services both in Mechanicsburg as Production Coordinator.
Dave was a rabid baseball fan having coached Little League for over 10 years. He loved coaching and watching his children as they enjoyed baseball, rugby, football and cheerleading. Dave enjoyed fishing and golfing and was an all around outdoors kind of guy. Dave’s mother, Janet, remembers him running and kicking the leaves in Caledonia State Park at the young age of five.
In addition to his parents, Dave’s survivors include his loving children, two sons: Jonathan and Tom Herr and their mother Maureen Leen all of Mechanicsburg; one daughter: Danielle Brightbill of Dillsburg; his fiancé: Melanie Fisher and her daughter Emily of Mechanicsburg; three brothers: Eric Herr and his wife Rebecca of New Hampshire, Nate Herr and his wife Stephanie of New Jersey, Brian Herr and his wife Danielle of Massachusetts; one sister: Nancy Casey and her husband John of Ephrata; and numerous nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to join Dave’s family at his viewing on Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 10:00 until time of service at 12:00 at
