David “Dave” Leroy Sweigard

David “Dave” Leroy Sweigard, Sr., age 80, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Halifax, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.  Dave was born on Saturday, April 5, 1941, in Halifax to the late Alvin Ether Sweigard and Ida E. (Wolford) Sweigard.  In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Webster.

Dave’s survivors include his wife of 55 years, Donna Kae (Hammaker) Sweigard; his two children: David Leroy Sweigarad, Jr. and wife, Holly; of Elverson, Gina Marie Skidmore and husband, Donald, of Carlisle; his three grandchildren: Michael Sweigard, Mitchell Sweigard and Ella Skidmore; his two great-grandchildren; his five siblings: Alfred Sweigard and wife, Carol, of Mechanicsburg; Ellis Sweigard and wife, Bonnie, of Meriden, CT; C. Robert “Bob” Sweigard and wife, Connie, of Leesburg FL; Anna Hain of Copperas Cove, TX; and Naomi Miller of Stewartstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced once scheduled.  Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
