Denise Lynne (Peters) Bennett, age 78, of Panama City Beach, FL, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Denise was born on Monday, March 18, 1946, in Harrisburg to the late Truman Bruce Peters and Elizabeth “Libby” Anna (Reed) Peters. Denise was the widow of Elmer Dale Bennett, whom she married on June 12, 1976, and who died on December 1, 2016. 

Denise’s survivors include her two daughters: Wendy Tatanish, and her husband Jim of Panama City Beach, FL, Cheryl Kuhl of Panama City Beach, FL; her three grandchildren: Jared Tatanish, Cameron Tatanish and his wife Rubing Fang, Kayla Rohrbaugh; and her great-grandson: Lorenzo Tatanish.

Denise graduated from Lower Dauphin High School as part of the class of 1964 and earned her RN and BSN through Geisinger Nursing School before going on to earn her Master's degree through Penn State University Middletown Campus. She retired from the Pennsylvania State Department of Health in 2006 after many years of service as a registered nurse. Denise was an avid traveler, having visited Bermuda twice and frequently vacationing in Florida before relocating there. She had a passion for reading and was a member of several book clubs. Denise enjoyed dining at restaurants and savoring delicious meals. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Denise will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Denise’s family will be remembering her life privately. Interment will be at the family’s convenience.
