Diana Rue (Durnin) McLaughlin

Diana Rue (Durnin) McLaughlin, age 76, of Carlisle, died on Sunday, April 21, 2024 surrounded by family.  Diana was born on January 3, 1948 in Waynesboro to the late Richard Durnin and Esta LaRue (Billow) Morrison. In addition to her parents, Diana is preceded in death by her sister: Dena Durnin. 

Diana’s survivors include her daughter: Babette Madison and her husband Dirk, of Carlisle; her three beloved grandsons: Cody Madison, Connor Madison, Colton Madison; her beloved niece: Aimee Mares; her dear family friend: Nancy Donmoyer; and her loving canine companions.

Diana graduated from Carlisle High School and attended York Junior College.   She retired after working many years for the Department of Labor and Industry where she formed lifelong friendships.  One of Diana’s greatest joys was spending time with her family and attending her grandson’s activities and sporting events.  Diana loved Christmas, thrift shopping and baking.  She would bake her delicious banana bread and deliver it to people in the community, family members and to the local police department.   Diana was kind and loving and will be dearly missed by those that were fortunate enough to have known her.  

All are welcome to join Diana’s family at her celebration of life open house on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 4:30 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral & Cremation). Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.
