Diane Marie (Shughart) Soprano, age 59, of Dillsburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Diane was born on Friday, June 7, 1957 in Mechanicsburg to the late Willis Revere Shughart and Gladys Marie (Hair) Shughart.
Diane’s survivors include her husband of 23 years, Daniel “Dan” Vincent Soprano; her two daughters: Angela Verdekal of Carlisle, Tabitha Hayden and her husband, Scott, and their children, Dylan and Reagan, of Carlisle; her four brothers: Ken Shughart, Ron Shughart and his wife, Ruth, Gary Shughart and his wife, Elaine, Don Shughart and his wife, Barb; and several nieces and nephews.
Diane graduated from Boiling Springs High School as part of the class of 1975. She was employed at Fry Communications, Inc. in Mechanicsburg for over 34 years. Diane loved playing the piano, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, quilting, and cross stitching. She so enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the feeder in her garden. Diane spent many hours online looking at dog rescue websites. She grew up on her family’s beautiful farm in Boiling Springs, now Indian Hills, where she joyfully rode her horse bareback across the farm. This became a cherished memory for Diane. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye and she loved being, “Nana”. She will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
All are welcome to join Diane’s family at her viewing on Friday, August 26, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.; with Don Shughart officiating. Diane’s family invites everyone to bring a covered dish or dessert and to join them for as they celebrate Diane’s life at the Monroe Township Building, 1220 Boiling Springs Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, immediately following the service. Interment will be at a later date in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle.
